Stefan Ormeling
UNKnowN is happy to welcome a fellow Amsterdam-Noord resident, Stefan Ormeling, to join the exhibition. Being the third in a line of painters, Ormeling naturally gravitated towards art and grasped the craft without any formal schooling, eventually becoming an artist by profession.
As master in visual storytelling, Ormeling’s use of collages and layover techniques creates a sense of simultaneity and movement.
Multiple narratives weave themselves into each other throughout the paintings, giving them their surrealistic feel. The wide array of different elements overlapping each other in these paintings will give the viewers an opportunity to examine them for hours, allowing them to make their own connections and thus inspiring a surrealistic collage of their own.
