Sick Society

Sick Society

Sicksociety explores the boundaries of the human experience through themes of alienation, identity, and social contradictions.

The artworks are in constant dialogue with its surroundings and passers-by, thanks to its public location. The monotone urban landscape is contrasted with the horrified emotions in the artist’s work. The face remains a silent witness whose screams are drowned out by the business-as-usual atmosphere of the city it finds itself in. The expressive face which marks the pieces therefore creates a space of shared emotions between the artist and the viewer. In doing so, it creates a bridge between two strangers through the power of raw emotions. Using monochromatic lines and sharp contrasts to emphasise the underlying tension of the face, Sicksociety achieves a careful balance of disturbing imagery with a sense of vulnerability.
