Ard Doko
Taking the international street art scene by the storm at the age of 18, the self-taught artist Ard Doko has become a prolific name within the urban arts. His work has been shown alongside world-renowned artists in community projects, galleries, and art fairs.
Despite achieving international acclaim among galleries, museums, and artists alike, Ard Doko has remained loyal to his street art roots. Enchanted by the vibrant chaos of the urban landscape, he began his artistic journey right on the city streets, using the blank walls as his canvas. To this day, the artist continues to capture the essence of the bustling city in his work. In doing so, Ard Doko hopes to highlight issues and individuals found in the margins of society.
Using a mix of techniques and materials such as spray paint, stencils, and traditional paint, Doko creates a dynamic symphony that reflects the hectic urban atmosphere with its diverse inhabitants. Emerging from this colorful mixture is a black-and-white face, which has become a staple of the artist’s work. Through its unwavering gaze, the central character confronts the viewers with its humanity and forces them to look beyond a faceless mass and see the individual.
