Artist Terms & Conditions

Inventory Management :

  • Artists are responsible for filling out the Inventory Load sheet whenever they wish to upload new products.
  • High resolution photos should be provided to UAG via email or on a cd.
    • Your UAG representative may be available to take these photos for a nominal fee.
    • General cost is $30 +
      • $0.50 / item for the first 30 items
      • $0.25 / item for all items after that.
    • This helps us to defer the cost of time & fuel for the representative to come to your house/business, plus image refinement.
  • If an item's quantity is low and no more of those items will be made, the artists will need to notify their UAG representative of the exact quantity numbers, and update their representative with those numbers if they sell these items someplace other than on the website.
  • If a 1 of a kind item is sold someplace other than on the website, or if any items are no longer available for sale, Artists are responsible for notifying their UAG representative within two days.
    • Failure to notify UAG will result in a $5 fee if the item sells on UnknownArtGallery.com and the artist cannot fullfill the order. This fee will be used to cover the cancellation fee charged by our payment processor.

 Shipping & Tracking :

  • The best method of shipping is up to the artist.
  • Tracking numbers are not required, but are recommended for any item which is unique, over $15 or otherwise too costly to replace.  Although tracking does not ensure against damage, it does allow both the customer and artist to track the package's progress, and it gives the artist some recourse if the customer claims that the package never arrived.
  • If a tracking number is purchased, the artist should send it to their UAG representative, so it may be sent to the customer.

Shipping Insurance :

  • This is not required, but is often a good idea on any item which is unique, over $15 or otherwise too costly to replace.
  • Any items lost or damaged without insurance are the responsibility of the artist, and will need to be handled by the artist.

Returns, Exchanges & Refunds :

  • Each artist is responsible for determining their own returns policy.
  • This policy will be stated both in the artist's biography, and in a common "Artist Returns Policy" location.
  • Any return claims which come directly to UAG will be forwarded to the artist.
  • If the artist wishes to exchange or refund a purchase, they are responsible for covering the entire cost
  • General Return Guidelines to consider :
    • An artist can definately take the "All sales are final" approach.
    • Customer should pay return & replacement shipping if they experience buyers remorse, but nothing is wrong with the product
    • Seller should pay return & replacement shipping if the item is damage/broken, or just tell the customer to throw the damaged item away and pay only for replacement shipping
    • Customer should normally pay for to and return shipping to perform warranty work.
    • Refunds should be made less an admin/restocking percentage (around 30-70%, depending on how unique the product is, was the product used or opened, and the circumstance of the return)
    • Some items should definately qualify as a non-return item.  This is especially true in the case of embroidered or otherwise customize items which the artist may not be able to sell again.
